STAR RACING & 3XRF FAMILY MOURN THE PASSING OF MIKE ESPE

starracing_graybgThe Star Racing and XXX Racing Fuel family bow our heads together with heavy hearts this Easter weekend, as we mourn the passing of Mike Espe. Mike had given Star Racing thirteen years of service with every intention of giving thirteen more as one of the best machinists the world has ever known.

We all know God is a fan of racing, so we understand why He would hand pick Mike for the team in Heaven, though this knowledge does little to ease the pain of loss.  Mike was more than an employee and more than a team member; he was family.  As family, we do take some comfort in knowing that Mike was called home while doing what he loved, and we also see it as an honor that he was called on Good Friday and is in Great Company.

Mike was forty-two years old, and is survived by his wife, Tammy Espe.  In lieu of flowers, we are asking folks to send love offerings to Tammy Espe @ Star Racing PO BOX 1241 Americus, GA 31709.

We would also like to encourage those who knew Mike, or were ever assisted by his expertise to please post comments on this site.  Stories, memories, prayers, and other thoughts of condolences are encouraged and appreciated.  Our prayers are with Tammy and Mike’s extended family in the racing world.  Rest in Peace, Mike.

Update: Funeral services for Michael Keith Espe (Jul 16, 1966 – Apr 10, 2009) will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, April 13 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.
